TGCL Management Visits University of Juba in South Sudan
A delegation of the management team of the Tanzanian-German Centre for Eastern African Legal Studies (TGCL), comprising Professor Ulrike Wanitzek and Mr Johannes Döveling, paid a visit to the Juba National University, also known as University of Juba, in South Sudan for the purpose of strengthening the relationship between the two institutions.
The central topics of the talk were current challenges of the legal education in South Sudan and how the cooperation between the College of Law of the University of Juba and the TGCL could be utilised to contribute to the staff development of the College of Law.
Up to now, the TGCL has admitted five South Sudanese students to its LLM programme. Three of them are academic staff members of the College of Law of the University of Juba, which is the only university in South Sudan teaching law.
